Super simple instructional post here....
I always dread having to change the batteries in a Denecke smart slate, especially the larger TS-3. To me, it's akin to blindly plugging in an XLR cable (like on set, when lights are dimmed)...I've never once had enough luck on my side to just slide the connector into place uninterrupted. I find myself butting the cable up against the device it's plugging into and spinning the connector in place a bit to seat the XLR plug, no big deal at all, just slightly irritating enough to make me weep internally a bit lol. ANYWAY, to me, changing the AA batteries in the TS-3's sled is no fun...but it can be!
I made this video for myself really, so I can burn the battery sled's orientation in my mind once and for all. If anyone else is as daft as me and can benefit from this at all, hey...welcome my friend hope this helps!
