I love watching circuit bending videos. It's such a deeply nerdy hobby, and it's so great. Let's discuss. Circuit Bending is the act of rewiring a device with the goal of making said device produce new sounds it wasn't originally intended to create. I just tinker and the aleatoric nature of these machines yield some happy accidents. Circuit Bending itself was created by accident in 1966 when Reed Ghazala, shorted out his 9v battery-powered amplifier in causing it to spew wonderfully glitchy sounds Id imagine. In 1992, he coined the term for a series of articles in Experimental Musical Instruments magazine.
Below are a few of my bends. There's a Casio SA 2 and Casio SA 5, a Childrens Keyboard (MD-6106), a Dog/Guitar toy, a Speak and Math, an Old Sound Machine and the infamous Target Cat Piano. There are others that I'll post when I can! Wish I had more time to dedicate, this is by far one of my favorite pastimes.
